My box of comics arrived today, a month’s worth of sequential goodness. All my favorite manga series were in there. And two (2!) issues of Justice League, and the latest issues of Supergirl, Buffy, Blue Beetle, Birds of Prey — everything awesome and wonderful.
And from early hints and allegations…

Black Canary’s going to be running the new JLA. *fangirl*SQUEE!*
Along with THAT, anyone who has ever complained ever about how Brad Meltzer writes the DCU can bite me, because he wrote the most awesome, amazing, pay-attention-to-continuity, Roy-accepts-his-invite scene in the history of comics with the most massive shout-out to Dinah’s linchpin role — and linchpin moment — in the Hard Travelin’ Heroes saga… *happy*
The new respect for Black Canary is all Gail, y’know, with maybe a little bit of Devin Grayson’s Arsenal mini as influence, and the fact that Brad has used that in his JLA? Rock. On.
The best Justice League stories always have character work in them. They’re never just about the widescreen action; they’re about the people and how they interact, and this new incarnation completely works on that level. And the action rocks pretty hard, too.
