I’m not sure why I didn’t order this title with my monthly comics when it was advance-solicited in Previews, but I finally picked it up at Barnes & Noble yesterday, and am I glad I did!
I could not put it down. I had to, though, because my errand-running ran late, and I had to rush to meet my friend for dinner (“one more page… okay, ONE more page… AIGH! LATE!”)
I haven’t read Green Arrow #75 yet and the Black Canary mini has yet to hit the stands, but DC has already moved on to the consequences of the popped question:
What is it with cult TV guys ending up in comics? Probably because they originated there, at least as readers. But we may very well have Rob Thomas of the cruelly-cancelled Veronica Mars pulling a Joss Whedon and writing Veronica Mars, Season Four as a comic. Not quite the same situation as Buffy, of course, since Joss left on his own terms and wrapped the Buffy series nicely, but now that he has more Buffy tales to tell, he’s moved to the sequential medium to do it and has apparently set a precedent. Apparently Rob and DC are in talks. Yay, talks! Yay, DC!
I’d buy a Veronica Mars comic, certainly — especially if it would resolve that STUPID cliffhanger Rob should have known better than to impose upon us, what with the axe dangling over his series so precariously. Also, to resolve the irritating on again/off again of my OTP, Veronica and Logan. Piz? SERIOUSLY?
